I'm intersted in trying Salvia - where does one get it. Can you order it on line and is it legal. I do not think that Salvia is illegal... yet.

Also what about mushroom spores. I know of some sites - but is it safe to aquire in the US?
Thank you

Joshua,

I could answer your question, but it is too boring.

There are lots of internet sites for this kind of question. This discussion board is meant to be a theoretical rather than a practical investigation of "where, how much, what," etc. And in fact, I think I might start closing down discussions on mushroom kits, extractions, etc. There are just so many places to get those questions answered, and anyone can do their own research in one hour, so don't waste this space with this stuff.

Go to google, do a search for "salvia." See what comes up.

Sorry Daniel -
I completely understand. I really enjoy this site and would like it to keep it's high integrity. I won't submit anymore of those sorts of questions.
Hope I didn't piss you off.
Josh

Entheogens, opening one's consciousness, breaking open the head, are all, at the bottom line, about compassion and kindness. David's response to Joshua was, from this perspective, very rude and pretentious. David, if you know, spread the knowledge, and if you don't, don't make people feel bad with your insufferable attitude: no great experience with entheogens gives you that right.

In loving kindness.

Who is this phantom David?

Is being rude in loving kindness rude?
Is a Zen Master hitting a monk with a stick rude?
Is the universe rude?

eh, his message board, he should moderate it how he wants to... Personally, I don't want to see this place turn into another "sources" forum either. Too many of those.

His name is actually Daniel. But that's ok - he called me Joseph by accident when he wrote to me. No harm done. ;) Smile on.
Josh ;)

who is david/daniel?

i took the question more metaphysically...it does raise some interesting questions..is this a group journey of discovery or just a place for david to gather material for both 2...isnt there enough censorship going on at the moment in the media...
that said i have been skipping this chain of late...thoughts anyone :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Since all one has to do is hit "salvia search" to find out everything there is to know about salvia, the idea is, do that so's not to clutter up the board. (Which is about theories and experiences and the like?). I do think that the threads should be allowed to twist in any direction, like a conversation, into silliness or what have you, because thats how people get to know and trust each other. Otherwise we have an air of stuffy "I know all about psychedelics" and people can get put off. America is absolutely obsessed with competition (look at every reality show) and I would hope that us people with our heads broke open would know better!

who better to ask than the people on this forum their opinions and recommendations on certain topics, even if it can be found elsewhere? i have come to respect the opinions and theories, well researched as they are, found here. i understand that we could spend an hour or two sifting through crap trying to find what we want, but if theres someone here who knows an informative site, why not ask? i do understand this is daniel's forum, but i have to agree that the post came off as pretentious. i understand where daniel is coming from, but posts like that seem to add an element of fear, causing us to censor what we post because its not "correct". maybe something on the main page regarding what is and isnt "acceptable" would help.

Ok it is not a big deal to me. One problem with Net communication is things get blown up out of proportion and bounce around over and over again.

Go ahead and talk about this stuff here if you want. I would go to Siebert's Salvia Shop or my favorite website, thebasementshaman.com, if I wanted more Salvia. Maya ethnobotanicals is also a good company, as I recall.

Wow - I didn't mean to start such a fire. It is interesting how these thing take on a life of there own though.

Long live free speach and thank you for all of your feedback.

NOW a more important question to all-

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH SALVIA D AND DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON PREPARATION BEFORE EMBARKING ON THIS JOUREY? Any and all comments are welcome.
Thank you

The salvia trip: hmmm, It takes you in a head-lock and you're squeezed and you can't panic (because you know it's pointless). Your ego is ripped out without fanfare. You see a frame-work of lights and your body feels disconnected. There's weight pressing it though, and you can still feel that. It's over in 5 to 10 mins but it feels like a lifetime. (Sounds fun!) This is all with leaf--never tried extract.

Salvia trip is existentially terrifying.

But that's all right.

A good friend of mine finds it exceptionally helpful to keep a packed bowl by the bedside for those semi dream states. Whether its late at night or early morning. For some reason he is more susceptible then. I have had best results in a more meditated state which goes to show that it works better when your mind is at rest or more tuned into different senses. It just has to be the right timing and is not something you want to try relentlessly until you experience something. smile.gif
