Nokomis

With the assistance of a mix of cannabis, blue lotus, wild dagga, damiana and some other mild euphorics I spent part of last night interacting with a spirit i've begun to call Nokomis.

I met her the night before in a lucid dream that I didn't try and control. She took my hand and I felt her surround me even though i saw her in front of me. She told me a lot about my life and what it would become even though I can't clearly remember the details. She was a grandmotherly figure, infinitly old with all the wisdom that entails. In my trip last night I felt her hold my hand and surround me again and she reminded me of some of the things she'd told me the night before. She's an incredibly comforting entity, much like a "real" grandmother is to a small child. Now that I've found her it takes away some of the anxiety I have around higher dose tripping on stronger substances because I've contacted her in 2 different worlds I can probably find her again when I need guidance and calm.

Has anyone else experienced an entity like Nokomis? And if so, whats your story?

Hey Luna, sorry I've never had any experience like that, yet.....I'm wondering about your techniques for lucid dreaming, I'm always looking for better ways to do this. Out of curiosity did anything nokomis tell you about your life seem plausible, or out of the ordinary, if you remember any of that. One last question, I live in Vancouver too, where is that spirit within store you mentioned on some post, and have you bought anything from there? Heh, the prospect of that store is getting my imagination going and that's probably not a good idea before I know anything about it, anyways thanks.

Unfortunately I have no techniques for lucid dreaming, when they come they come of thier own accord. I've been meaning to practice it, as well as astral projection but I have a hard time sticking with something and focusing.

To the best of my memory Nokomis basically told me about my character and the kind of work I would be doing politically and spiritually. She didn't give any specific events or scenarios, just a direction to step towards. I remember the feeling more than the words.

You can find The Spirit Within in 2 locations and its sister store, The Urban Shaman in one.

On Commercial drive, about 10 blocks from the skytrain is the first and oldest one. There's another on West Hastings at the corner of Cambie, its upstairs- there's a sandwich board sign so that you can tell where it is. About 2 doors down is Urban Shaman, its a little outlet in the back of the Marijuana Party Headquarters. They all carry pretty much the same stuff although there may be a thing or two that one has and another doesn't.

I know they carry Salvia Divinorum, Iboga, Ayahuasca, Calea (aka Dream Herb- it gives lucid dreams), some type of DMT containing seed which I think is called Yopo or Yoho or something, Syrian Rue...sometimes peyote, and a variety relaxants, stimulants, mood enhancers and other such lovely things. I love the store, and the people that work there all know a ton about the stuff they offer so they can give you the right advice. But of course we must remember- its not for human consumption- its for scientific and identification purposes only tongue.gif

I've bought some Calea recently but havn't had a chance to try it- I work full time and don't want to have to wake up super early after a night of exploring the dreamlands. I'll post a complete description once I've done it. What I have bought and tried is the Kava paste which is just a nice relaxant which I smoke to make my gimpy back feel better, the euphoric smoking blend which contains blue lotus, damiana, wild dagga and some other herbs- it's really nice to combine with pot or on its own and it offers a calm sense of well being.

Spirit Within is probably one of the better places to obtain any substances just because the staff knows what they're talking about, they price very fairly and the substances are reliably good quality.

Hey Luna thanks a lot, I work on commercial so I'll try and drop by there by the weekend, buy some kava and calea for now, maybe some rue. I've always been curious how much you could get to know a person you've never met before in one night by doing mushrooms with them. If you're ever interested in getting together sometime let me know.
