You may enjoy the dream I had after almost finishing your book last night. I woke this morning, and had to feverishly write it down:

I was in a south american country in a museum of indigenous plants. There were many novel plants there but one caught my (and others attention) there was a plant that sat in a fume hood, like in a lab. the top was a pleasant small (and nondescript, I can't remember it) plant, but the bottom of the FH (where the cabinet was) was a wall of pale green moss that became enraged when people approached. The plant sent out hundreds of tendrils when someone got near and as the museum guide said it took 'extremely complicated, painful, and dedicated surgery to remove the barbs that the plant used to defend itself' . An image came to mind of a pock-marked face of a native with hundreds of lesions on it. After many people teased the plant in the Museum (the warning said scientists could only work with it behind glass) it stung and tried to devour (? or punish) a child that played nearby it, to the horror of the child's brother and sister.I’m not sure whether the child lived or died. The child's parents were nowhere to be found.
Somehow, the plant said (to me? others?) "if you think this is bad, people occasionally meet a pumpkin/pomegranate and get bit/stung and they don’t know what hit them - they lose a leg or a foot - cue a scene of a coastline (same SA country?) where ominous looking large round fruits have casks and look like mouths that bite. The fruit were lying, beached on the idyllic shores looking like sharks that had been washed ashore.
When I went 'home' (still in the dream) the name of this plant was impossibly long and when I did a search for it I couldn’t find it on the internet. the name was a cartoon-like version of baaanestoperismimsoadatura etc.
This dream segued into a dream about another museum, obviously in Canada and a science museum at that. After dreaming about being unable to pay correctly for the admission I dreamt that I was involved in some sort of breeding experiment, with fish or aquatic creatures that I (?) had managed to differentiate into two species. One species was clearly dominant although there may have been a balance in the large fish tank I was working with. One of the types of fish developed a red coloring along its spine, and the red colored fish tried to infect the regular ones - there was something tremendously cannibalistic about this action as when the red striped fish bit or tried to meld/eat with the white ones, the red flowed from one to the other.
Somehow the dream segued into a section about pay per view porn which I'll leave out(!) but then the dreams mingled and via some mechanism unknown to me the pay per view porn dried up the water going into my fish tanks (maybe this wasn’t literal but the porn distracted me from tending to the fish?). eventually I had to throw the tank away because the little water left got milky (opaque to view) and decayed. I thew it away but I had a sneaky suspicion that some of the fish may have survived and been selected for in the hideous environment of the decayed tank.
