Hey guys, how are you?

I am in Ecuador right now working for a year as a high school teacher. In April we get two weeks off from school and my plan is to go on a bit of a spiritual/jungle journey to encounter mainly ayahuasca from the source. I have been here for six months now, and in typical Ecuadorian fashion, people love to tell you about all the people they know or how they can help you find it, but nobody ever comes through. I have actually talked to Daniel through email and he offered some advice. So what I am asking is if anyone out there has had any experience with shamanistic traveling in latin america? I would love to hear some stories/advice.

And if by some chance anyone wants to come down here to accompany me, that would be great. I don't have anyone to go with.

Ok!

If you can connect with Don Caesario, you wil be doing well.

There's no such thing as a bit of a spiritual journey. Get serious about it or forget it. If you get serious about it, you'll find all the shamans you need. If you don't, you might as well go to Disneyworld.

Sorry if that sounds grouchy but that's the way it is.

Usually, if he's on a spiritual journey!

Advice for Bren: Spend time out in nature on the weekends, don't hang out too much in the Mariscal (especially at night) (and in connection with that, be celibate, if that's feasible), practice fasting, hug trees, listen to what the birds are saying as they sing, and the shamans will appear as if by magic.

Actually Woodpecker, that's some good advice. Obviously you've been here what with knowing about the Mariscal, and yes this weekend I stayed clear away from that place. As for a "bit" I guess I was just trying to throw some flair into the writing, you know, be a big shot.

My plan so far is to just arrive at a Oriente town and get to know the place and the people. I have two other people I can call as well, just gotta do it. One of them is a canadian who has been here for about 8 years and said he can get it for me really easy, without ceremony however. He also told me where to go to pick mushrooms... I also have the number for a hotel where they apparently can arrange it. So I have some options.

Daniel- what was the contact again for Don Caesario? I unfortunatley lost the email you said when I couldn't get online for about 10 days.
