Piers, I just posted a pair of messages on your site. Looking forward to downloading and printing out a copy of the poster for your talk--just to have it, as it's unlikely that anyone would fly to London from here in Vienna just for a lecture.

One suggestion, for whatever it's worth. Try not to give the impression (if you do, or have, I don't know) that drinking ayahuasca is some kind of fast track to enlightenment. That sometimes annoys and alienates those whose paths and tastes are different. I'm reacting to the negative review your film got, which you posted on your site. Just about everyone who's ever tried hallucinogens has gotten the feeling of being flooded with information / knowledge / primordial wisdom, and one of the hardest things is not to get puffed up about it. That reviewer described Alan the American talking self-importantly about destroying the ego, and without ever having met Alan, I feel like I know exactly what the reviewer means.

Then again, it's also OK to piss off people like that reviewer. He can handle it. It's educational.

A shaman said to me in Ecuador one time, "I've been drinking ayahuasca for seventeen years, and I'm still the same moronic asshole I was when I started!" A pretty wise statement, I'm sure you'll agree.

Peace, and keep up the good work.

the film has already been shown on c4 here in uk..its also being shown on national geographic (europe section only i think) as "fear and loathing" and the sci fi channel too..check my website for updates on reshowings etc...but usa has not bought it as yet...send your local broadcaster an email!

and on the other point - yes...i am still a moronic asshole too..i hope that comes across clearly in my talks
