Someone posted about the drug provigil a while ago, which had some disturbing use for combat soliders.

According to a Stanford lecture I downloaded on nanotechnology, the drugs mentioned in that article, especially the sleep-deprivation/ultra marine drugs are actually being researched using nanotech. The goal, accoridng to this lecturer, is to create a nanotech drugw which will enable a ground unit to operate without sleep for five days at intense levels of activity--enough time for a marine squad to "secure" an area.
If only the military budget was *actually* used to create and stabilize peace, instead of using claim that as a smokescreen....
