I have recently heard various reports from people in the U.S. who say that the Bush administration is planning to use conscription to fight his various planned wars (Iran and North Korea as far as I know..)
My friend and I decided to research this and found loads of websites stating that yes, the Bush administration is well on its way to do just that, with lots of details like how the age would be raised to 35 and would include women and men (fair enough). On the more scary side of things Bush has already been working on securing the Canadian and Mexican borders to stop people escaping conscription and college students would only be exempt for the remainder of the semester they are in. The worst thing I heard was that anyone attempting to escape conscription could be shot without a trial.. hard to believe..?
I was wondering if anyone knows more about this than me (a kid just following internet trails where they take her) and if anyone knows any good sites I could go to?
