This is from today's New York magazine, "Intelligencer" section:

My letter in response, which will be published next week, I hope:

In your Intelligencer article about my recent lecture at the New York Open Center
(“Lit Scenester predicts Apocalypse”, May 8), you state that I predict “the apocalypse
around 2012.” This is incorrect. In actual fact, my thesis is that we are already
in the apocalypse – a word that literally means “uncovering” or “revealing,” and
a process representing “the coming of the self into conscious realization,” according
to Jungians. In my book, 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl, I propose that humanity
can enter into a new form of consciousness, creating new social institutions representing
a different realization of time, space, and being, in the next few years. In that
sense, 2012 may represent our birthing into a higher state of awareness, rather than
cataclysm, collapse, or “apocalypse.”

Yours,
Daniel

I clicked on the link, and underneath the article were "Ads by Google," one of which read: "Free Bible Prophecy book. Daniel and Revelations have a lot to say about coming events."

Has anybody heard anything about that comet that broke up recenly as it was coming aroung the sun and is now heading toward earth.Scientiests say it will miss us by about 5 mil miles unless the pieces (7 of them I think)bump into each other and change their orbit.May 25th is the day that it passes by earth.

Hang in there, Daniel. At least you're rated a "lit scenester" in New York. I hope the book's release doesn't subject you to more ridicule. As Bob Dylan said, "Everybody must get stoned."
