We are all on this forum well versed in the 2012 end date ho haa.
I was thinking about it and have a good question.
So 12/21/12 is the end date of the mayan count for there calander. They say in there prophecys that this is the start of the golden age. What that golden age is, well no one has really been able to say, and there prophets must of only got the five o'clock version, because they havent givin specifcs. (damn prophets) BUT
here is the question.
What about other dates on the mayan calander that bore deep meaning for the Mayans? If we find those dates and then compare them to our own time context we might be able to better discern if there model of exsistence is a good one to use or not. If really meaningfull events occur in thier calander and nothing special was happening in the west, why would we consider another date in there calander (2012) to mean anything to us?
by the way hippies
Things die and perish
time is make believe
all this shift shit:cry: shows deep attachment to matter
and fear
and argonence to think that we control the world as much
as we think we do
Are we really that special
and God isnt coming down
its coming out
and by the way that whole concept is stupid also
assigning God to temprol places and making the source come down, out, in, up....What are we in fourth grade?
IT is here
We just make bad chocies and arnt that smart
and really like to fuck
WHAT ABOUT A MILLION YEARS FROM NOW?
LOOK AT THE STARS THEY AINT EVEN REAL
JUST NOTHING
EMPTYNESS

Do you have a weird bug up your nose?
Despite your unpleasant slacker patois, your question is a good one. Why don't you do some original research on the subject, and report back to us when you have the results?

believe me - i am laughing all the way to the bank.
The Mayan Factor by Jose Arguelles; The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness by Carl Johan Calleman
You would have to look at the books by David Friedel and Linda Schiele for more date transcriptions from traditional archaeologists.
You could also ask Professor John Hoopes, who turns up on this forum now and again.

Why don't you put some money WHERE you say your mouth is Daniel.
I think you're a pussy and don't have the balls to go to Mexico with some others.
You're,so far,a two bit side show.
And all of the "millions" of hippies created in the 60's.
Where are they all Daniel.
You really are an unprincipaled weakling without any desire to do anything concrete. Unless it's because, like me,you're stoned all the time and come to think of it I think I'm right and have a Merry Christmas..

Have you got started yet?
The dates/events have in each and every way coloured the civilizations and centuries to come, in one way or another...
Here are some of the dates i put down in my own research relating to the last 5 baktuns, as the dates are shown at:Maya Calendar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_calendar)
1618 CE - end of 12th baktun :
Jiva Goswami (15??-1618 CE)is one of the most prolific and important writers from the Gaudiya Vaishnava school of Hinduism, producing a great number of philosophical works on the theology and practice of Bhakti yoga and associated disciplines.
29 Oct 1618 CE Sir Walter Raleigh was executed. After the death of Queen Elizabeth, Raleigh's enemies spread rumors that he was opposed the accession of King James.
AURANGZEB [1618-1707]
Aurangzeb was the greatest king among the Mughals and ruled over the largest territory of any ruler in Indian history. His empire extended from Kabul in present Afghanistan to areas in South India bordering Madurai in present Tamil Nadu State. He was a kind-hearted man and led a simple life. He was a just ruler and forgave his enemies. He abolished all non-Islamic practices at his court; abolished Ilahi calendar introduced by Akbar and reinstated Islamic lunar calendar. He enforced laws against gambling and drinking. He abolished taxes on commodities and inland transport duties. He forbade the practice of Emperor being weighed in gold and silver on birthdays. Aurangzeb did not draw salary from state treasury but earned his own living by selling caps he sewed and selling copies of the Quran he copied by hand.
1224 CE - end of 11th baktun:
* The foothold of Taoism, Chung Yang Taoism, Northern School:
The Perfect Realization school quickly generated branch sects, starting with those created by 7 of Wang's own disciples. The most significant, though, came to be identified as the Northern and Southern Schools. The Northern School, also known as Lung-men ('Dragon Gate'), was led by Wang and his successor, Ch'ang Ch'un, who used the White Clous Monastery in Beijing as his base, beginning in 1224.
* In a short span of five years (1219-1224 CE), Chengiz Khan slaughtered millions of Muslims, forced many others including women and children into slavery, and razed to the ground quite a few of the most populous and prosperous cities of the Muslim world at that time.
830 CE - end of 10th baktun:
* Al-Khwarizmi (the Father of Algebra) produced the first map of the globe (known world) in 830 C.E.
* Christian missionary Ansgar visits Birka, trade city of the Swedes, the beginning of the end to a semi-pagan nation. Sweden was finally proclaimed Christian in 1000 CE.
* Earliest date of composition for the Historia Brittonum, attributed to Nennius, and known for its list of 12 battles of King Arthur.
* Borobodur is completed as a Buddhist monument, after about 50 years of work.
435 CE - end of 9th baktun:
* St. Patrick arrived in the Plain of Slecht, near the modern Ballymagauran in County Cavan. Here once stood the chief idol of Ireland known as Cromm Cruaich, which was adorned with gold and silver and surrounded by a ring of twelve smaller idols covered in bronze.
In early mediaeval times, this site was known as a place of pagan worship and the scene of a mighty conflict between St. Patrick and the heathendom. It is told that Patrick struck and marked the main idol with his stave and caused the twelve lesser idols to be swallowed up in the earth as far as their heads.
* The Eastern Roman Emperor recognized the independence of the Vandal kingdom in Africa.
41 CE - end of 8th baktun:
* Caligula is assassinated by soldiers in 41 CE.
* Herod Agrippa is made King of Judaea.
* Claudius is proclaimed emperor by the praetorian guard after the assassination of Caligula.
* Empress Livia Augusta was deified by her grandson Claudius.

So have you researched the treasure of Babitha the Essenean, Isaiah. Her eldest son Joseph helped her writing the scrolls, since women weren't legally allowed, but, boy what a tough business woman, if it were today, the king of Jordan would be a pauper concerning wealth!
She owns the land reaching from the Essene city of Petra to the Dead Sea in the North, orange groves, wells of cool sparkling water, palaces, mines, you name it! ;)
Someone else just kinda stole it from her, i believe it was her husband's second wife Miriam....

How much do you smoke everyday?
nanouk

don't be silly, Isaiah! about 5-12.5 grammes of Drum Gold, with liquorice papers, depending on if i go to the pub or are having a bottle of Chateau Neuf du Pape, or not...:)
the last time i smoked the good stuff was a third of a spliff about two and a half weeks ago.
check it out, google Babitha and dead sea scrolls....or maybe Babatha...
*searching*
guess what? i believe "they" may be watching us here on BOTH...
...back in May 2005, i had a "brainwave/transmission" about Josephus, The Mary Magdalene Gospels and Judas, in regards to New Jerusalem and Swedenborg, and the secrets of the Bible.
Babitha was married to a "Judas" but he took off with another woman and left her alone raising x amount of children. I posted this here in early June:http://www.breakingopenthehead.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-435.html
Now all the articles i researched are gone! :skeptic:

Back,I'm still coming down.
"I am an old woman now.
The buffaloes and black-tail deer are gone, and our Indian ways are almost gone.
Sometimes I find it hard to believe that I ever lived them.
My son grew up in the white man's school.
He can read books.
And he owns cattle and has a farm.
He is kind to me.
We live in a house with chimneys.
My son's wife cooks on a stove.
But for me, I cannot forget our old ways.
Often in summer I rise at daybreak and steal out to the cornfields and sing to the corn as I hoe, as I did when I was young.
No one cares for our corn songs now.
Sometimes in the evening I sit and look out on the big Missouri.
The sun sets and steals over the water.
In the shadows I see our Indian village of earth lodges, with smoke curling up, and I hear the laugh of little children as of old.
It is only an old woman's dream.
Again I see only the shadows and hear only the roar of the river, and tears come to my eyes.
Our Indian life, I know, is gone forever."

Honestly Nanouk do you really think the Indian has disappeared.
You know,of course, most were moved to Oklahoma and they are ,for the most part, fairly well hidden.
The problem with the Indian tribes now that they seem to fight each other all the time rather than use their collective psyche as a society builder.
Yes,I am lucky.I can go out in the evening and watch the Sun set on the holy lake and remember the times past when the people who I loved and laughed with are only beautiful memories in my mind.I can see and talk to them still and they tell me the same thing.
He who does not fear God has alot to learn.

Nanouk, from now on when you run across a very pointed question to the little Bastard that authored BOTH,don't post on the thread until the skinny shit-ass answers my questions.Please.
I enjoyed reading your pasted post about the early Christmas celebration but was waiting for a reply from Sir Daniel.
I read probably about ten times more everyday than the normal God.The thing I enjoyed first so far today was a somewhat psychoanalysis of cave artists from about 28,000 years ago.

Who couldnt be cynical in this day and age with all the bullshit, there are a lot of flakes in this counter Culture~ as the french would say. I am still full of love, life and creativity.
I come here because where else am I going to find trippers like this on the intraweb?
I used to wish I could cut my nose off but I digress.
That was some awsome respose time amigo. That was really great to see. The one thing that stikes me about that stuff is that it is mostly religous and polictical. Great stuff. But I guess Ill have to do some work my self. I find my self to be more intrested in the art and philosophy and movements forward that had a great benifit. most of those events you listed dont seem like universal changing events. I mean large warfare is always a great transformer and new heads of state and what not. But what about the discovery of gravity or new forms of art or writing, BREAKTHROUGHS? If the end of this age means people are going to brawl the shit out of each and some religious movement is going to occur, it doesnt really stike me as anything out of the ordaniary.
Which is fine, because I'm willing to bet this whole 2012 watershed is the point where we have the final nuclear showdown. Changing the game for a long time. Or, (with crossed fingers) our collective field generates a mass hallunaction of aliens and we all be on acid permenatly, or something like that. GETTING TO KNOW WHATS ALREADY HERE>
Isaiah I like your prose.
Its good to let Coatl have it now and then. But you still got to love his funky ass. He is just trying to get laid and have a good time like the rest of us. At least he self deprecates his entheogenic hubris. But it is hubris with up sides.
Just remember. Mckenna was the holder of all this stuff and he got a brain tumor. Repersenting the ones who do not need repersantion is a sticky narrow blissful hunt and can catch a man fame or the grave. Either way we all got to love woman better and be a little smarter and more creative and it will be just fine.
What up with Indian Casino hustlers that dont give back? That shit aint right.

...are you one of those?
Sorry Lord CM,didn't mean to hurt your feelings.
Surely you know some young investors who can see the value of owning a piece of Mexico.
I know a lake up there 50-60 deep, never gets above mid 80's or lower than high 40's and has commercial fishing and 15 foot alligators.
I would probably fly someone down there-from dfw of course and pay for most their trip if they had some liquidity and an open mind about Mexican Real Estate. And back it up with the 40 acres on I-40.
First week of January would be good for me,but Jan and Feb as a whole I would cherish forever.
