In the sky! A bird? A plane? A ... UFO?

It sounds like a tired joke--but a group of airline employees insist they are in earnest, and they are upset that neither their bosses nor the government will take them seriously.

A flying saucerlike object hovered low over O'Hare International Airport for several minutes before bolting through thick clouds with such intense energy that it left an eerie hole in overcast skies, said some United Airlines employees who observed the phenomenon . . .

aw c'mon LS admit it, it was YOU, wasn't it? checking out the old neighborhood.

henbane and broomstick stuff.

Pretty cool, the way you can turn yourself into a disk like that.

I'm doing yoga these days (while listening to sports talk radio) but I can't even come close to the full Lotus or any of that spiritual stuff, mostly I just stretch and hurt, but I have tons of willpower so sooner or later I'll break through and figure it all out and start flying around.

did i misread the article or did this happen on November 7th? why did it take so long to come out.

i've got a good friend who works baggage handling at o'hare and i've dropped him an email to see if he has any more info. i'll let you know if i hear anything.

I first saw a link on Drudge a few days ago to the TRIBUNE article, which was relatively balanced, and yes it happened in November.

Then AP picked it up a day or two ago and turned it into a big joke, predictably.

What's that line from the Travolta film "A Few Good Men" I think?-->"YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!"

No, collectively as a society, we can't.

Humming

I was just about to post this.

I don't know about society, but I can handle the truth. The truth is that what those people saw was not a weather balloon, or any other kind of vague unexplainable phenomena.

What those people saw was some kind of technology that allows for an aircraft to float very high in the sky without making any noise, and to accelerate at speeds so great that it could not possibly be powered by any convential thrust-propulsion engine.

The story of what these people saw is very consistent with thousands of other UFO reports. I personally know of at least three people who have seen "UFOs", and I believe their stories.

The fact that a group of people who are trained to look at the skies and know what's going on up there all saw the same seemingly impossible thing happening, is damn good evidence that the UFO phenomenon not only deserves serious investigation by the FAA, but press coverage all over the world.

I mean, it's ridiculous for the FAA to deny the truth. It makes me feel like a 5 year old kid, and my parents are trying to "help me" by protecting me from the truth and lying to me that the Easter bunny is real despite the fact that I know he isn't.

Of course, when most people even hear the word "UFO" they are so well trained by the media (which so often makes a joke out of things that need serious attention, like in this AP story for example) that they immediately put up their psychological denial mechanisms, and don't bother to care what the truth might actually be.

Did anyone else notice how the FAA lied about the fact that they had knowledge of this event, and that United airlines told their employees not to talk about it?

Why?

I had a very close encounter with an equilateral, flat black triangle preceded by spheres of light doing inexplicable manuevers on the horizon, each a different color. The military has serious technology that is just starting to get scrutinized by researchers.

Money and fear of ridicule. United would not want its pilots to get a reputation as "the kind of people who see UFOs, Ha Ha Ha!".

Very, very bad for business. And the airline business is a tough business to begin with. So the managers do everything they can to make sure they stay competitive in the market and that passengers have confidence in the company and the pilots.

This is the sort of thing that might even make it to Letterman or Leno, etc. if it's not nipped in the bud. A real PR nightmare. This is why "they didn't see anything so forget all about it!"

The FAA has a history of lying about plane "crashes" -- it's a thoroughly corrupt institution.

So, inter-dimensional travellers, the military, or both?

This is a fascinating read: The Stargate Conundrum (http://www.philipcoppens.com/starconundrum.html)

UFOs flew over Phoenix in '97, Symington says

By Tom Beal

ARIZONA DAILY STAR
Tucson, Arizona | Published: 03.23.2007

Former Gov. Fife Symington says now that those strange lights that appeared over Phoenix a decade ago were from another world and that he had a close encounter with an alien craft on March 13, 1997.

"I'm a pilot and I know just about every machine that flies. It was bigger than anything that I've ever seen. It remains a great mystery. Other people saw it, responsible people," Symington said Thursday. "I don't know why people would ridicule it."

Symington, who was in his second term as governor of Arizona during the Phoenix Lights incident, recently told a UFO investigator making a documentary that he had kept quiet about his personal close encounter because he didn't want to panic the populace.

He repeated his story Thursday on CNN, saying the craft he saw was "enormous. It just felt other-worldly. In your gut, you could just tell it was other-worldly."

The governor didn't let on at the time, instead poking fun at the whole thing.
He hosted a press conference a few months after the mass sightings to announce that his Department of Public Safety had arrested the culprit responsible — a very tall bug-eyed creature brought before the media in handcuffs.

He then unmasked the creature to reveal his chief of staff, Jay Heiler, who at 6-foot-4 made an imposing, somewhat comical space alien.

Symington said the producer of the film "Out of the Blue," James Fox, originally sought him out to talk about why he had spoofed the sightings but then asked if he had seen the lights.

"I said, 'Yeah, I got a good look.'"

Heiler said Thursday he isn't surprised Symington believes in UFOs.

He said his boss was a "Trekkie" who enjoyed discussing space travel. Heiler said Symington was convinced that earthlings would be traveling to distant solar systems at speeds exceeding the speed of light "in our lifetimes."

Heiler said he remained "the earthbound skeptic" in those talks.

Symington never mentioned his personal observation of the Phoenix Lights but was always interested in getting to the bottom of it, Heiler said. "The DPS was at kind of a loss as to how to investigate an alien visit."

Symington's June 1997 press conference coincided with his appearance in federal court on a variety of fraud charges.

"It was a troublesome period to say the least," Symington said. He said he didn't need the additional problems that would have come with the admission he had seen a UFO. He told only his wife, he said.

Symington was convicted of bank and wire fraud and had to vacate his office that September. His conviction was later overturned and he was pardoned by President Bill Clinton before federal prosecutors made a decision on refiling.

Tucson astronomer and retired Air Force pilot James McGaha said he investigated two separate sightings over Phoenix that March night and traced them both to A-10 aircraft flying in formation at high altitude.

McGaha said he talked to an amateur astronomer who observed the A-10s and to the National Guard unit that flew them.

"It was clearly aircraft in formation, flying at two different times and then dropping flares and it's clear to any rational person that's what it was," McGaha said Thursday.

McGaha said Symington "is not a trained observer and what he feels in his gut doesn't make any difference."

Symington said he's always believed that life existed elsewhere. "The universe is a big place and we're conceited to think we're alone."

Yeah that's a strange news story.

First, it seems like a real scoop, a real solid breakthrough story.

But Symington is quickly discredited as an indicted criminal, for "fraud" no less, while a retired air force pilot and astronomer (Mr. Credibility himself, a virtual Eagle Scout) is called upon to rationally solve the problem by resurrecting the old "it was flares" explanation.

So you can relax, dear reader, it was just a shadow in the dark. Go back to sleep. Don't be scared and don't hurt your pretty little head thinking too much.

Don't get too weepy about it. They're probably just paying a karma debt from a past life. Either that or it's something they "need to experience" to evolve.

If I had enough to drink , I'd say let's get some of the Blackwater guys that were down in New Orleans after the hurricanes, and make a posse and go liberate them.

Well, anyway, when the Greys and cross-breeds take over, there goes the football season. Can you imagine trying to field a team with hybrids? I doubt you'd find anybody over 100 pounds, and they sure as hell can't block or tackle.

But the reptilians are another matter entirely. I could see them on the defense. I bet they'd make good linebackers, but I'm not sure about a reptilian playing quarterback.

4 am is a creepy time to think about this stuff. thanks (again) for the laughs.
i sat next to a guy 80+ years old at a seminar in santa fe feb 06 who said he had driven with his wifes best friend non stop from florida (that should tell you something) who gave me some web sites (unsolicited) and told me about these underground cities and all sorts of other 'info' and later when i ran into him again i asked (trying to be flip) "what about the mutilated cattle" and he didnt miss a beat and said the blood was being used for hybrid beings...then last month i saw him on the history channel on a ufo program.
i have entirely too much time on my hands.

youre right of course, reptiles as quarterbacks would not work - in fact i dont see them as team players at all. one of these 'investigators' (online) said it's good to have a picture of a reptile somewhere on your clothing (like a hat) if you're gonna go searching for them at one of the many locations. btw - i was in creed colorado last august and there were some new additions to old old mining ruins there all marked keep out. still havent seen anything myself.

p.s. there is a weird (undoubtedly for the space shuttle or something mundane) set of structures on a hilly out cropping (+/- 800 feet high from the high flat desert around) about 10 miles south east of the town of mojave CA on the road to las vegas. (near edwards AFB.) It's on the right as you go east and adjacent to a rest stop. a man there had binoculars which he got when i pointed out to him the hill with the seriously starwars looking type stuff sitting on the top of the ridge of the outcropping. i thought it had to be a movie set except for the size. i got a camera onthe way back and made a video. there are ten plus of the weirdest buildings and they are all huge and have giant radar and round ball things on top; some with hangers underneath that you can see light through to the other side. in case youre out that way.

that sounds perfect, but maybe it'd be too small? do they even make izod shirts anymore? this topic is pretty weird. i'm one of those 'seeing is believing' types (i dont doubt that others may have seen stuff) but as far as me and these reptiles are concerned, it's that old three dog night song - "mama told me not to come."

Dozens Claim They Spotted UFO in Texas (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=18146244)

larry king (cnn) had some of the texas witnesses on last night, very compelling, and they and the long term researchers (forgot their names) banged up the naysayer 'expert' pretty good!! maybe the show will rerun tonight or sunday.

one guy said he thinks usa govt is ready to come clean here as govts all over the planet are beginning to release their information....oh god we will find out mutilated cow blood is actually being used by lizards for the hybrid human-aliens.

Suebee, check out the Stephenville saucer blog. One Texan says there: "Yeah I saw it--through my rifle sights!" Another said, apropos of what? "Yew know, a lotta us folks around here think the End Times are a comin'!"

i kid yew not.

I believe, and im scared. all my earthly experience shouts, "The Strong eat the weak!" But then i tell myself, some say the next stage of evoution is the flowering of compassion.

Also, Lake Texoma is in the National News!! A fisherman there thought he'd hooked the biggest blue cat in the lake (is what he said--I don't know what pound test he uses. . .)he couldn't budge whatever it was, so he got a redneck friend with a wrecker to pull out--A Stretch Limo Humvee!"

The interview on KXII TV.com is hilarious--

after initially claiming that no planes were flying in the area, the military announced last night that a tight formation of F-16s were doing maneuvers over Stephenville the night in question.

Who knows? I should go down there and find out for myself.

suebee
01-24-2008, 06:01 PM
one of the witnesses was a pilot and he said he saw two fighters chase the thing on its way back from stephenville as it went by his house again and then lose the object as it accelerated away from the jets. this is where the military initially said no jets in the sky that night....all the people seemed 'normal.' there were two sisters on from the phoenix (1996 or 7?) happening (which the governor said on cnn last year he witnessed himself), and these two sisters were adamant they could not see stars through the silent gigantic craft hovering over their parents house near camelback mtn. and watched it land and take off. they were totally believable.

really dont want to meet bad assed lizards.

craazyman
01-25-2008, 03:19 AM
it was probably just a low hanging cloud, or a maybe a thick flock of birds, or a form of temporary blindness by the witnesses rarely diagnosed by the medical profession, or it could have been a lot of dust in the atmosphere. There are lots of scientific explanations.:p

suebee
01-25-2008, 09:55 AM
well larry king had more people on last night re this 'sighting,' (as the military says it was just fighter jets) so it is getting real media attention...also on was the air force captain who was on duty in 1967 inside a nuke missle silo complex that had all its missles shut down completely one by one and he said there was another silo site where this happened at the same time - a guard above the complex called him and said he had seen an oblong red glowing ufo above the complex just before the shutdown and this ufo was seen at the other site as well....also was another military officer from the 1980's sighting in england and he said he stood next to one on the ground for 45 minutes, took pictures etc., which was disc shaped no windows no entry visible but with weird heiroglyphs on the outside and it took off while he was next to it, hovered near tree level then shot off at incredible speed and made not a sound nor had any visible means of propulsion. these people were sane acting and believable.

i love larry king.

craazyman

as a self-appointed expert on this whole phenomenon I find it kind of amusing how the topic sort of comes and goes cyclically from decade to decade, never resolving itself, never coming in to clarity, never achieving anything more than a faint peripheral hold on the collective imagination. There've been years, decades, of radio shows, talk shows, documentaries, books, etc. And nothing has changed.

And why should it be otherwise? The phenomenon effects very few people directly, it doesn't change anything about how we have to live our lives here on earth, day to day and year to year.

We already know everything we have to do. Whatever this phenomenon is, it certainly does challenge the boundaries of physics, psychology, consciousness research and maybe metaphysics. That's a lot. But it's nearly all theoretical.

It would be amusing to think of Jacques Vallee or Patrick Harpur on Larry King, but I doubt either he (Larry King) or the US popluation at large could grasp the reality of what it all means, or would even want to.

Bad news on my part since we last talked.I know now why Christ had disciples.
I took off for Mexico, didn't leave instructions as to what to do with my portfolio and lost a third.A third CM,a fucking third. That could have easily gotten us here off the grid and out of cat shit city.

Got out on the old MF-MasseyFerguson SB,and really cut some images over the turnip, mustard and radish beds,as well as burned a sizable crop of Johnson Grass.

Yeah I sold CHK about the time you bought in CM and it turned into SHI.

if there are real things flying around, some people might go seriously nuts. plus, some might find it harder to sell weapons to every enemy of everyone else (other humans would become suddenly much more palatable), and a bunch of people would be out of easy cheap wealth. so maybe thats why the militaryindustrialcomplex dont admit nothing. ??

Ouch Isaiah, that hurts and I can feel your pain. What little I had in the market got hammered, thank God I'm a poor man mostly in cash. Tried to nibble a bit today with some hard stops but got blown out right away. Oh well, I made $150 yesterday trading BNI. Ha Ha. That won't buy much and I lost it today in OMX and MSFT, trying to play the rally. All chump change, but I'm experimenting with strategies with it.

Seriously, I think JST is a long-term winner. I'm putting it under the mattress. It's holding up like a champ and they just revised earnings up. If the financial system doesn't go to hell, and it might, then JST is a $100 stock in a few years. But it may go back to $20 or lower in the interim. If all hell breaks loose then I'll be a big buyer at Dow 9,000 and ride it all the way back up.

To hell with the saucer men. If they can help me make a million I'll be interested in talking to them. Otherwise, they can fly around as much as they want. That doesn't impress me and they don't either. They're a bunch of deceivers and I can find metaphysical riddles in the eyes of a house fly. But put a few beers in them and let them do Karoke and then I'd be impressed.

Just remember though,anything is possible.

I need to put 20 k in SHI and by next July my 2000 or so shares will get me back to where I was. That is if Mr Bush doesn't destroy Iran.God forbid.

Got another fair oil lease in the work so I'm not hurtin for money although I think if you had built the portfolio for me you would have felt obliged to get hold of me when I am out of town so that I'd lost 4 K instead of 40.I take the blame for it but it was avoidable if people had a healthy respect and caring for me and mine.

That's the trip about the Messiah machine and several people working together to amass more than the Scientolgists, and apparently the locals.

I'm afraid our friend SB is trapped in California. You and I both know what a house in SF is worth now.Won't be worth nothing after a few more fires, mudslides and/or earthquakes or personal infection with one of the bugs running rampant out there.

---

About 10 years ago, I used to have lunch in a little Mexican restaurant on my block in New York run by a dude about my age (both mid 30s then). There was another guy who was a regular, and at lunch we'd all insult each other and give each other shit like guys do. Mostly total nonsense -- sheep screwing, homo jokes, lesbian humor, mixed in with football and baseball talk -- your basic bonehead stuff.

So one day I trotted out my little interest in the paranormal and mentioned UFOs, it may have been due to something in the news or some other external provocation. Well, the other dude (not the restaurant owner), was a fairly serious guy under the surface. He managed a steak house in New York and worked really hard, a very sober guy in reality. He was older than us, probably early 40s then.

He was from upstate New York, up by the Adirondacks. Real country. He said one day that his dad was out hunting and sat down on a log, turned around and there was a spinning silver disk about 20 feet above him and behind him. He said his dad was real tough, conservative, no-nonsense guy -- sort of mid-20th century American iconic stuff (my description not his). He said his dad mentioned it once, and never talked about it again. I think he was quite serious about this story.

They are out there.

That would indeed be a positive thing SB.:D

I for one do not like to see people suffer. There seems to be such a terrible difference between the average american and those who are on top. They create boards and agencies that are suppose to regulate themselves and protect the common man but those establishments only work to protect those who set them up.
As I've said before, there is liitle justice,if any,in America. There seems to be very little for the downtrodden and suffering.

I tend to agree with Willow.America has a day of reckoning coming and unfortunately it will probably fall on the heads of those who love her the most rather than the rather than the crooks in the bankers and mortage companies and the doctors and lawyers who are killing stressed out people by the thousands everyday and charging them for it.

For the first time in months I got drunk yesterday-mostly out of frustration and stress. My heart can't take much more of the above mentioned bs.

FORMER NASA astronaut and moon-walker Dr Edgar Mitchell - a veteran of the Apollo 14 mission - has stunningly claimed aliens exist.

And he says extra-terrestrials have visited Earth on several occasions - but the alien contact has been repeatedly covered up by governments for six decades.

Dr Mitchell, 77, said during a radio interview that sources at the space agency who had had contact with aliens described the beings as 'little people who look strange to us.'

He said supposedly real-life ET's were similar to the traditional image of a small frame, large eyes and head.

Chillingly, he claimed our technology is "not nearly as sophisticated" as theirs and "had they been hostile", he warned "we would be been gone by now".

Dr Mitchell, along with with Apollo 14 commander Alan Shepard, holds the record for the longest ever moon walk, at nine hours and 17 minutes following their 1971 mission.

"I happen to have been privileged enough to be in on the fact that we've been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomena is real," Dr Mitchell said.

"It's been well covered up by all our governments for the last 60 years or so, but slowly it's leaked out and some of us have been privileged to have been briefed on some of it.

"I've been in military and intelligence circles, who know that beneath the surface of what has been public knowledge, yes - we have been visited. Reading the papers recently, it's been happening quite a bit."

Dr Mitchell, who has a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering and a Doctor of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics claimed Roswell was real and similar alien visits continue to be investigated.

He told the astonished Kerrang! radio host Nick Margerrison: "This is really starting to open up. I think we're headed for real disclosure and some serious organisations are moving in that direction."

Mr Margerrison said: "I thought I'd stumbled on some sort of astronaut humour but he was absolutely serious that aliens are definitely out there and there's no debating it."

Officials from NASA, however, were quick to play the comments down.

In a statement, a spokesman said: "NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe.

'Dr Mitchell is a great American, but we do not share his opinions on this issue.'

mitchell was on one of the larry king friday segments which i watched again at 3 am last night. he said he lived in the roswell area his whole life, people knew him and his family, he knew everyone there. everyone in area talked about the 1947 incident ever since but were subdued, and more than a few long time residents/military people called for him on their death beds and told him what they had seen. he was lucid and believable.

I am becoming a bit more respectful toward Evert's "Many Worlds" interpretation of quantum theory, although not precisely in a physical sense. I think the cubist painters anticipated this in visual expression.

It also makes sense why someone as superficially sane and inarguably high-achieving as a David Icke and a Dr. Steven Greer could believe what they do belive. Perhaps Dr. Mitchell is someone in "that world" too (no pun intended).

It is not needed to explain the widespread prevalence of pyschotics, narcissists, and capitalists hard at work in this area. It is also too morally relativistic for me, so I only apply it judiciously. LOL, which of course is a philosophical and scientific cop-out.

I live in a world where there are no aliens or UFOs (except for the few that I have seen with my own eyes).

In my world Gold will go to at least $1500 and the Washington Redskins will win a SuperBowl within 3 years under a new head coach. Also, JST will go to $100. And when I look at famous politicians and the super-rich, I see flawed men and women, many of whom operate on auto-pilot, and who are not lizards with black slits for eyes.

The universe is an imagination machine.

They are years -- no, decades -- away from even having a clue. All of them.
