Brothers, I just had a breakthrough night. This time i took it down a notch to the 5x. Last time I posted (my first time) it was about a frightening experience. This time I just let it take me and was handsomely rewarded with treasures. I finished what i was going to do for that day and set the mood with lighting soft, only my cable lights on, music from soundlift.com. It is amazing that as explorers we can manipulate our set and setting in a way that shamans in more natural settings couldn't.
I think it is a great gift to be able to do so, but of course it is only appropriate considering we live in high population density areas with a lot of things sending their energy toward us and we must be able to control this when we explore hyperreality. I set out my intent to know a few things in my life, specific questions. I drummed a little as i sat crosslegged on my bed. I smoked a bowl in a waterpipe and sat back and again came the feeling of being attached and not being able to let go, as if I was trapped. I imagined being in a mouth I guess, as a tooth and not being able to escape. but i kept breathing and came back down and realized i was seeing things for what they were not, just objects in my room that appeared like a tooth or a mouth in shape.
It was strange how shapes morphed and how I would hear multiple voices in my head. Anxiety surfaced. but i calmly and by focusing on my breathing was able to work through it, come out of it slowly and be able to get a feel for what was going on. Even closing my eyes I would see the same shapes, probably because they left the imprint in my mind. But after coming down and seeing what it was that was happening, changing the music to breakbeat mixes from tastynoodle.com, turning off the lighting that was causing some shapes to appear to me, keeping my focus on my breath, making sounds with my mouth to test what was outside and what was inside, even as my body started to feel that feeling of letting go, i redirected my focus on my breath and even as i felt i was starting to split in two i once again redirected it, I felt myself dropping down way below the bed my body was laying on physically, as if someone were taking my very center inside and just pulling it down, stretching it down far while i could feel the outside part of me, my sides, still out up there. It was a hole i had fallen into. And i could come back.
And as I let go again I felt this rising energy up my spine and all the way to the top of my head. it was strange as if there were a door closing right above my head so close to the top of my head it was touching me. or maybe a string connecting me up. this altogether slightly familiar was strange and i as i felt taken away as i kept breathing into the experience. Soon I was feeling as if in a gyroscope, one of those rides at state fairs where they strap you to this contraption made of huge rings that gyrate and spin you around. I felt like that except i was through physical objects. The top half was above the bed, the bottom half through it and below. I could gyrate too and felt myself rock back and forth.
I also remember being able to flex my brain. It started at the back, with what i think was the stem, and worked its way around, the right side in the back, then the left in the back, then in the front, around to the right side of the front and then the middle. It was amazing. I can still do it now if i concentrate. it is absolutely awesome. I remember reading about this from "The Frontal Lobes Supercharge," by Neil Slade. Salvia taught me how to do it for myself. She is a great teacher on how to use your brain and your mind.
Everyone says this time and time again, set and setting are crucial to your experience. Here you have some examples of how the manipulation of your music to explore trance states, the control of your lighting to darkness, and your leaving these explorations to after you have taken care of your physical earthly matters can affect the experience. You also have the redirection and focus on the breath along with telling yourself to calm down and let go again and again as i did that played a key role in actually allowing me to do just that (self hypnosis commands) which greatly contributed to my having the experience that I did. A ritual purpose also, asking for protection from my higher power and for strength and courage helped me as well as approaching this experience from a place of respect. I was able to work through some anxiety and give myself to the experience, which shows me that this is very much about letting go and giving up control, something I might want to practice in my daily life.
