At first glance 2012 sounds like a book weighing-in specifically on a now famous and rapidly approaching slice of time. Readers might assume it's a deep investigation of this single solitary subject. Instead, Daniel Pinchbeck serves us an encyclopedic pu-pu platter of life's mysteries and psychedelic exploration. Taking a hit for the team, he dives deep into the abyss of the psyche traveling far and wide, all while going the distance physically to consort with and report from various tribes, shamans, healers, new age nutters, and thinkers.
2012 is primarily about (post) modern man's journey from the turn of this century to around 2005. Dipping in and out of many well researched topics and thrusting into personal relationships. In a world content with normalcy, Daniel courageously and honestly seeks out counter-culture subject matter interpreting with his dense words.
While we tirelessly google away for information on these subjects, Daniel delivers first hand accounts and a plethora of references to research on our own. Leaving us with far more questions than answers it proves the old adage, "Life's a journey, not a destination." In fact, I'd take it a step further saying, "Life's a journey within a journey." Looking forward to further writings as we glide through space and time towards "the big day" ahead.
