Eight states have placed restrictions on salvia, and another 16 are looking at doing so.

"As soon as we make one drug illegal, kids start looking around for other drugs they can buy legally. This is just the next one, "says Florida state Rep. Mary Brandenburg, who has introduced a bill to make possession of salvia a felony punishable by up to five years in prison."

Hmm. 1 in 100 of our citizens in jail--we're out of money and the young folks are looking for a legal way to get high. Let's get 'em.

oh, yeah, as for the dangers of salvia. Well, a couple of years ago, one kid might have used salvia, and he later committed suicide. There was no salvia found in his system at the time of the suicide, but still, it was probably the cause.

"You don't make everybody happy, but if you can save one child, it's worth it." Well, Bozo, why don't you try lowering the speed limit? That would save the lives of thousands of children every year.
