I was looking at the August pictures of crop circles and came across one that was discovered August 2, 2004. The border of the circle is a "mirror image of a rare statue of the Aztec God, Xochipilli, the Prince of Flowers...". I am not sure if there are many on this list that have used trance postures, but the statue figure is clearly in a trance posture.
Trance postures are ways shamans entered into the Spirit World for various purposes, healing, divination, spirit world journeys, etc. I ran across this when I was doing research on the anthropology of consciousness and ran across a reference to findings and studies done by Felicitas Goodman. Since then I have bought her books and have used the postures with myself since 1998. I do not recognize this one so I am not sure if she has included this one, or has noticed this one, I will have to go through my books and notes.
I am going to try the posture this week, if anyone would like to try to use this posture to find out more information about this circle and the "meaning" I would love to share experiences.
