I was looking at the August pictures of crop circles and came across one that was discovered August 2, 2004. The border of the circle is a "mirror image of a rare statue of the Aztec God, Xochipilli, the Prince of Flowers...". I am not sure if there are many on this list that have used trance postures, but the statue figure is clearly in a trance posture.

Trance postures are ways shamans entered into the Spirit World for various purposes, healing, divination, spirit world journeys, etc. I ran across this when I was doing research on the anthropology of consciousness and ran across a reference to findings and studies done by Felicitas Goodman. Since then I have bought her books and have used the postures with myself since 1998. I do not recognize this one so I am not sure if she has included this one, or has noticed this one, I will have to go through my books and notes.

I am going to try the posture this week, if anyone would like to try to use this posture to find out more information about this circle and the "meaning" I would love to share experiences.

hi.
Is there a way you can show us the image.

I am familiar with some postures used for "dreaming".
would love to hear your experiences.

crop circles (http://www.cropcircleconnector.com/2004/silburyhill2/silburyhill2004b.html)

Just scroll down this page and you will see the picture of the statue. If you are going to try the posture you have to arrange your body in the same way, otherwise it just does not work. I have tried varying postures, to no avail. It also works better to use a rattle as a means of entering trance state... so have someone rattle for you or listen to a recording of rattles.

I will share my experience.... now just to find the time!!!!

And then....

I did some more reading on the statue of Xochipilli and his statue is adorned with psychoactive flowers including mushrooms. So I am going to try the posture in both states and see what the difference is... first without mushrooms and then with....

I love projects!!!
