From James Howard Kunstler's Monday, May 19 2008 blog:

"It's hard to predict how long these institutions at the heart of our economic system can linger in the "far from normal" limbo of pretending that money has not been defaulted out of existence. Since the same process is underway in Great Britain and Spain, places beyond the control of Bernanke, Secretary Paulson, and the Boyz on Wall Street, and since actions and reactions there will affect the destiny of money here, its hard to escape the conclusion that we're at most months away from the brutal recognition that Wall Street has managed to bankrupt itself (and, by extension, the United States). This is dark heart of the matter of which no one dares speak."

I think that conclusion is very far out of touch.
Yes.As our population ages, and the price of everything -particularily taking care of yourself medically and the price of oil and it's spinoffs-many people will suffer very difficult times and demand changes.
That is why the Democratic nominee will win the election, unless of course R. Nader helps throw the election the other way like last time, and I doubt there are that many dumb people again.

Wall Street -with it's ups and downs-will always be with us.

When our national leaders learn that the US cannot be the policeman and the flagbearer of "Democracy" and all that comes with it,of the world and that we can't continue to allow big corporations to abandon America to seek out cheaper labor so the CEO's and the shareholders make outrageous profits at the expense of their fellow countrymen then maybe some of the "good ole days" will return.

It is no wonder that we have more people in our prisons than any other nation. It is no wonder people in America are depressed and have little optomism about their future.

I watched Mr McCain speak today and he is parroting the same shit about Iran that Bush fooled us with about Iraq. The ONLY way that what you showed us today Willow will happen,is if McCain wins the election.
