Who and Why Are People Trying to Destroy BOTH

This seems to be more than an epidemic of spam. I think some one or some group is trying to make using this site unusable.

At first thought it might seem like a disgruntled person, but the longer this has continued it is hard not to consider more sinister options.

Amen,and it all started whe FJ suddenly came back online and started messing with the site and claiming he didn't get much money to do much more.
It's like FJ said.He moderates mostly to help Daniel sell his book.
I'm not expert but I believe something could be done about the spam problem.

Are getting a regular income off BOTH FJ?

Just received the PM from suebee and I'll look into the spammer problem. I wasn't aware of it, actually. I doubt there's a connection to the forum upgrade, unless perhaps the upgrade automatically made it easier for spammers to register accounts, which is easily remedied.

Oh and Isiah, I think you may want to re-read my post from last week. I was actually turning down sidecross' offer to give me money, as opposed to claiming that I wasn't getting enough.

And no, I don't help here for any reason other than to help keep the BOTH forum available and healthy for you guys.

Anyway, sorry for the annoyances and hopefully it will all be better by tonight or tomorrow.

I can verify from private e-mail writing that forteanajones is a person of the highest integrity, and that his work to keep this site going is just an example of the fine person that I find him to be.

We should all be grateful, as I am, for what he has given us of his time and energy.

Spam should be all cleaned up now, more or less. I'll try to check in more often. Seems that most of the spam accounts arrived prior to the most recent upgrade, and the registration mechanisms are still fairly robust. I could turn on a couple of things to make it harder for them to get in, but I'd prefer to avoid doing anything that might complicate the process too much for other legitimate new registrations. And thanks for the nice words, sidecross.
