Notes: 2/30/03 1200mg DXM. I was drifting deep in The Hive. I found my way into an opening. Then, beyond was another opening and I entered it. This happened three or four times. Then The Spiral hit yet again. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This was the first indication that I might be able to induce The Spiral experience. It was done by entering into one of the shinier crevices that would sometimes appear on or amid the living Hive tissue itself. Inside there would be something going on..."appliances" doing things in "apartments" and such. But in the distance, if I didn't give my attention to the "room" at hand, I would notice still another shiny crevice and move toward it. (This navigation is done by never taking my "eye" off the spot.) Into this I would go, passing through tight, almost claustrophobic areas filled with transparent or pink tubes that gave the feeling of an underground self-running scientific laboratory. Then farther ahead another crevice. Then, I was There. The Spiral. A woman figure said, "He's reached the next level." (This statement by the woman, while certainly promising for me, or at least my ego, is as well something for everybody. The idea that there is achievement to be made, and that it is recognized over There, needs no elaboration of its importance.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------The reason I have posted in "demensional shift" is because this navigation has become automatic for me. I no longer get intermittent muscle control, no more Crab Faced Other popping up for a mind meld, no pixie/plants. Aside from ancestor visits I now go straight to the Hive. Now it is different; I phase into it. The last time (recent) I felt/saw the Rubberness of this Oversoul. It's fuckin' there! It grows constantly. I saw the history of earth. Rappers, bikers, hollywood people, ancient warriors. There is no deed ever done, good bad or indifferent that really matters. The whole thing is a badge of courage (our history). We are about to explode as a new neighbor in the cosmos as this mind! (I'm not mad, or inventing this--I have a natural aptitude now for phasing into this Hive. I grew up next door to my uncle who is a physicist at Berkeley and had the scientific approach instilled in me from preschool. Of course this is not a scientific thing to report, but my point is I've waited for some time now before reporting this.)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the Rubber Soul I was told to not try and get my "book" "The DXM Explorer" published because "They" don't want DXM to get any more attention! "Give it to the underground" said They. (There was even a joke(?) about the sudden proliferation of CVS stores.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------So, I had 50 copies printed and binded, laminated cover--sort of like a munual. They went like hotcakes at the parties I'd had at my farmhouse in the last two months. They're free. (That's not to say I wouldn't go against Them and publish if I ever get a shot, but this needs telling.) I spent a year on this (only 25,000 words) and it was a huge task-- trying to maintain a continuity so as not to lose the reader and get my point across--a ponderous thing--all the while undergoing powerful changes in my belief system that at times almost overwhelmed me. If anybody here wants a copy private mail me where to send it. (I'm outta bread for printing new copies just now, but in about a month I'll get a new batch together.) Humbly, Dan Carpenter.

A plug for Dan Carpenter(Halfglass)'s book, The DXM Explorer. My copy arrived a week ago. It's unpretentious, conversational and philosophical, entertaining and profound, like his posts. He's taken up McKenna's call to map the unseen worlds; he's gazed upon the reservoir of human consciousness and visited the apartments of the dead. He poses questions about the nature of human life, and puts his two cents in. I recommend this for seekers. I hope his money holds out! Bravo.

ditto on everything that woodpecker said regarding halfglass' book: it's great stuff. if you're at all interested in the subject matter, i'd encourage you to request/purchase a copy from him.
woodpecker said it well; despite dealing in such a profound subject matter, halfglass writes in an attractively unpretentious voice... and while the book does indeed replicate the spirit of his posts, it's obvious that a great deal of time and thought went into making the text a polished and coherent read; no quickly dashed-off message board post kinda-style here. nice work, and impressive. courageous and candid. along the way there are references to bishop berkeley, robert monroe, stephen jay gould, and some guy named daniel pinchbeck :D .
the introduction alone is a great read-- halfglass muses (sans religious or other conceptual framework) on the bare facts of our human existential condition, and then transitions into a thoughtful riff on the subject of Psychedelic Drugs and, of course, DXM. the main body of the text consists of details from his specific sessions which transcend the average "trip report" thanks to halfglass' methodical and carefully edited descriptions/transcriptions of his raw experiences, coupled with his intriguing speculations and commentary...
to be honest, i've been somewhat busy lately and thus haven't finished reading the entire thing yet, but i just wanted to second woodpecker's recommendation...as i had been meaning to put in a plug myself, ever since delving into my own copy and finding it a pleasure from the first page on...
great work, halfglass!

I've been talking to everyone about the book through private mail, but I'd like to say here; thanks for the kind words. The response has been great. (I think someone got it to dextroverse or something, but I'm putting off those folks for now.) It's satisfiying and therapeutic to know people have read and dug my stuff. (You guys overseas; yours is coming by sea--the cost of air ya know--I think it takes like a month for Europe.)

Halfglass, I wonder if you're seen a film called "Wax, or The Discovery of Television among the Bees." Your image of the hive suddenly brought it to mind the other day.

Woodpecker; naw, haven't caught that. What's it about? I did get the book you recommened..."Antipodes of the mind" the other day. It's very interesting. He's slightly dry so far--statisticalish. I hope he opens up and gets more persoal later. But either way I'm glad to have found a book like this (categorising the frequency of types of visions etc. has finally been done properly I would say). Natin: Private mail your 20 and I'll get one to you (or send to: Halfglass007@aol.com).

Wax: "A bizaree cyberpunk tale of a bee-keeping weapons designer whose thoughts are taken over by bees in a hallucinatory alternate reality..."--from a review. More reviews are on the web, but they'd spoil it. Peace.

Halfglass,
Your book, brain candy, thank you.
Call me crazy but I love the cover.
I like the line, "the body is a perception of the mind."
What stays "unmanifested," or then chosen into actual time?
The watcher (our other?) who divies the various I's to refect the emotional ranges orchestrated by overmind business.
The big "I" must be guiding all
The hive mind is jung's collective, processing itself, because it can.
The matrix is alive, yet we are more, plus that.
Excellent traveler!

Gyuri: I think the biggest discovery was my eureka moment when I realized everything was "wilderness"--that I was experiencing nature. This seems obvious to me now, but I think everybody has been conditioned to think of the spirit world as disconnected from this world of stones and bones--science is as guilty as religion in pushing this idea (in science they do it by avoiding getting real with consciousness). Jezebelle: Yes the cover is, shall we say, earthy? Why not, psychedelics shouldn't be humorless! What is "unmanifest"? From what I gather the Unmanifested is the Thing/It (initially) eyeless, doing Behind. We are probes sent, cut off from memory of the origin, and screened through the ego--(not really us/it, but great fun to experience)--to make the illusion of "Me" and "that." We are that Thing. (I sense this area is much more than Jungian too.)

I really like the part on the ancestors, we could be taking on the I's – first set out by the emmanations in one's bloodline. (sins of the fathers stuff) Something we white folk don't think much about. (or didn't used to) May be some unfinished business, left for a co-soul.
Even the act of reaching for the most best-es, god-evoked, and spontanious, can seem orchestrated, 3-D projected. I'm straight up with it - all being your wilderness.
Then there is our mother-earth, but we are part her and yet the "other."
what a marriage!
