Please explain the 13 month cycle

I have read about this and can understand why it makes sense from a numbers point of view, but how is changing to this calander suppose to end the technosphere and make our lives better? Why will having a 13-month (28 day) cycle calender benefit us as a society.

Laymans answers are welcome. I can't stand techno babble.
