Dear Daniel:
I admire and envy your courageous (because more fully informed) exploration of this realm, which I have merely scratched the surface of, and withdrawn from very burned, long ago (I have massive scars to prove it). Allow me to share this insight that occurred to me while I read your book -- based on ignorance but depthless curiosity.
What if, instead of mystical realms and infinite space, these manifestations were self-injections into the realm of the microscopic? What if, instead of 'expanding' our awareness into the infinite, we were focusing awareness down to subatomic scales, and every one in between those and ours (more or less six foot, macroscopic)?
Recall the flow of blood whining in your ears. We may be focusing downward in dimension, rather than outward, into 'spiritual' realms. It is time we took the patent obfuscation 'spiritual', and turned it into something more obvious and predictive, for better or for worse.
Infinite space = infinite dimensions of smallness
Crystal cities = crystal substrates of microscopic communities
Benign and malevolent entities = beneficent and predatory microscopic communities.
Cosmic communication = finally hearing intelligent bacteriological, sporozoic, cellular, viral, etc. communities, perfectly capable of talking to us, had we ears to hear and eyes to see.
Instead of associating psychotropic compounds with 'cosmic spiritual entities' of various sorts -- associate them with microscopic communities according to their real-life diagnostics, electron microscope silhouettes (dragons, anyone), and outcomes? Do so systematically, based on the best information about them we could collate. Build a road map and travel guide to this realm? I dare the lot of you.
What if the local and temporal variations of psychotropic experience (taking the same drug with different affects), which you relate so often, signified the effects of local conditions on OUR OWN BODILY MICROSCOPIC COMMUNITIES, that we came into direct contact with? What if the global coincidences we experienced were the result of communication with microscopic communities talking across global (and cosmic) distances in manners we have ignored up to now? What if insanity were merely cerebral rule by the wrong microscopic minority in the world forum of our bodies? I assume you are aware of Howard Bloom's work, The Global Brain, etc.? If not, do read.
One thing I noticed about the voices I was allowed to hear: either they were woody-the-woodpecker, alvin-the-chipmunk high-pitched and therefore 'smaller' than me, or they were massive and cosmic through infinite repetition by a cosmic chorus -- the perfect affect of microbiobial communities.
From their point of view, we would be lumbering retards: perenial Vogons rendered into idiocy by the sheer mass and metabolitic complexity of our awareness (billions of corporal human cells must achieve consensus -- compared to their billions of identical and therefore automatically consensual cells). They would despise us for our slowness, and envy us our complexity, which they could never duplicate.
Of course, this idea is not exclusive. After all, we are emissaries of a massively obese biomass, carefully cultivated to strip the Earth in order to achieve some unknown (but totally out-of-balance, unsustainable and ultimately suicidal) critical mass of awareness. 'Superior' entities may exist, manipulating our growth beyond its natural red-line. However, current communications may be with real-world phyla we would consider 'subordinate,' to multiply our awareness and thereby further a cosmic project we have barely the inklings of. It is time we understood more fully, and were allowed to resume natural sustainability, based on most recent understandings.
You are sufficiently networked to cross-fertilize this idea with relevant experts (microbiologists, public health, electron microscope experts). I am not. You can reach people who need to understand this, in many ways I could not. I appeal to you: look into this eureka very carefully. Here may lurk the technological treasure trove we need, to replace the fuel-oil rapidly disappearing. We need miracles in industrial quantities, to replace with sane awareness our macroscopic industrial insanity based on inadequate information and fuddled understanding. Your passion topic and networking assets are potential seed-beds of pragmatic miracles humanity and civilization may need to survive. I like to take hot showers and be free, and have no desire to revert to lesser levels of civilization.
It may well be, that we need to ally ourselves with 'subordinate' entities in an enlightened manner, in order to merit direct conversation with God. That is what you seek, I presume?
