Ayahuasca Retreat

In December 2006 I was in Ohio visiting my sister when I read an article in the National Geographic about a jouralist who wrote about her ayahuasca experience during her stay in the amazon at "Blue Morpho". After reading this article I became hooked on the idea of going to the amazon to stay with shamans. It's been 5 months now and I have done massive amounts of research about ayahuasca, lsd, shamans, psychadellics. I have found the ideal Refugio camp for me to stay when i go to Ecuador and stay with shamans. I plan to stay with Scott Peterson at the Refugio Altiplano. My stay should be from March 15-23 2008. or the 24th. Basically 8 days where I would undergoe 4-5 ayahuasca ceromonies or more depending on what my body/mind/soul can handle. I am very eager and serious about this trip. I am ready to take this path where I will engage in a spiritual journey by confronting my fears and past expereinces under the sacred ayahuasca.

I highly recommend people watching "Shamans of the Amazon"- it's a documentary that can be watched for free on google video. If anyone else is interested with going with me please email me or reply in this thread. I live in New Jersey but if there is a bigger group willing to go than we can get cheaper rates. I only would want to go with those who truly have the intentions of having a spiritual/healing/deep experience by going to stay with shamans at the Refugio Altiplano.

I almost feel as though I have become obsessed with the idea of living in nature in the heart of the rainforest. Since December upon reading this article I passionately have watched every youtube video on ayahuasca, read and joined several ayahuasca and psychadellic communities online, read "breaking open the head", spoken with several people who have traveled to the amazon and stayed with shamans.

I have truly found my calling which is to help spread consciousness and awareness through the median of art. My talent is acting/writing poetry and I feel as though going to drink the sacred ayahuasca medicine down in Ecquador is my next step that will strengthen my passion further.

Anyways please people reply to this thread with your expereinces, interests, knowledge about ayahuasca. Please daniel also reply I would love to hear your input.

I officially purchased a ticket to Lima, Peru from there on to Iquitos to stay with Scott Petersen at the Refugio Altiplano. I will be going from march 14-23rd. I contacted Scott and he was generous enought to give me a discount from $160 to $80 a day on the hope I can bring people with me. I do have a couple interested adventurers and I am still looking for anyone who is interested. If you are don't hesitate to post your thoughts here. Peace and Love.

Hi, I am currently campaining to raise awareness about the Refugio Altiplano. I know this is a pretty wierd thing to hear but I have to advise against staying at the refugio. I believe that mr. Petersen is psychotic and that he should shut down his operations- and that if the worst alegations are true, he should be in jail.

Why am I doing this? Because I believe that he poses a real threat to the security of people who I know as I have family and friends in Iquitos.

My story is that I myself have been a frequenter of the Refugio and have looked up to Scott and respected him deeply as a shaman and a guide but have discovered through a cumulation of events that he is not righteous in any right and I can not trust him anymore whatsoever. Too many people (many of whom I personaly trust) would have to be telling terrible lies about him.

I believe that Scott were he to find out about my campaing would certainly be able to figure out who I am and would be extremely pissed, but I am realy not affraid of him and I feel it is my duty to do this and would it turn out that I am dead wrong and that all these people have been lying I will disregard my own intuitions and bad experiences with him and gladly delete every single post and send a full reversal and apology to everyone I have emailed. But alas I fear that this will not happen.

I am sorry for your experience brother. I trust Scott and have dialogued with several people who have stayed there. This place is a center for healing and I know that I will have a beautiful safe spiritual journey. I hope that whatever happened you learned from it because I feel everything happens for a reason.

I have less than 2 months before my journey and I am very eager now. Febuary 15th will give me 1 month exactly to have a specific dieta for the journey.
