I mean massive. Shaking one so violently that arms flail about out of control. In through the feet and then slowly up through the body and then out of the top of the head. The body felt like a cylinder with all the internals removed and huge streams of windlike energy coursing through like a train. Occurring about 10-20 times during a ceremony. Strange sounds entering both ears. Whistling, chirpping noises that sounded like the voices of little people. There was always a space of time between the rushes of energy. Lying there motionless and then the electricity in the feet and the realization that this energy was rising up again. After the first five or so passes, begging the spirits to cease this energy flow and allow this human to relax. But no, the streams continued. Any similiar experiences out there and anyone care to explain this phenomenon?
I want to add more information about this amazing session in Peru with Blue Morpho.
After this streaming of fantastic energy through my body, I was visited by the little doctors (doctorcitos). I was lying on my back and I sensed them there kneeling behind me at my head. I knew there were two of them, female and male. They opened the top of my head and I felt warmth. I was never frightened that this warmth was blood or that their intention was malicious. They began working on my brain! I don't know how much time elapsed but I remained still so that they could do their work. At some point I knew they were finished my head was closed back up. I then felt something moving inside my head; it felt large. It was moving towards the top of my head and there was associated pain like when a muscle freezes in your leg. Then I felt it push through and out of my head and there was a tremendous release of pressure. It felt like a mass of dark grey mud the size of a softball. Afterwards, there were about 5-6 smaller objects that also fell from my head.
The next day I asked the curandero Hamilton what he saw. He said he was kneeling behind me and singing a healing icaro. My head was swelled to three times its size. He then saw a large tarantula sitting on my head. He waited and it fell to the floor and he sent it back to the Universe. I asked him where he saw the spider and he pointed to the same spot I felt it push through my head. He agreed that it was as big as a softball.

Wiresome hey. Maybe the rising energy was kundalini (sp?) (too lazy to look it up just now (lol)).

I'm not a follower of any Eastern practices but I'm sure they are onto something with the rising energy. (I do have first hand knowledge of chi or prana. I had it pouring from my finger tips while under the psychedelic before I had ever considered it one way or the other (as being true or not--I am a Westen spirit/science discoverer and all my "shamanic" discoveries are made under this kind of scrutiny).

Perhaps in your hightened state, this rising energy was amplified to your senses when it hit. (Although it wouldn't have to be: Amit Goswami in "Physics of the Soul" described his rising kundalini as extremely intense and life changing, and he was perfectly "straight" at the time--although in a deep meditative state (which I've never achieved without a psychedelic)--it could be argued that he was not "straight."

The brain thing is interesting. Alien abduction reports IMHO, are non-physical but certainly real in some cases. (Most people on this site, I'm sure have had enough encounters with Other, not to argue that one.)

Your tarantula event reminds me of an encounter with a "sprite" I had on a high dose of DXM. This elfin figure came from a forest (that was the wood paneling in my livingroom). He showed me a "gland" in my head (near the front, behind or near the nasal area) that had now been "irrevesibly" opened. He said it led to the back of the skull (where one's hair swirls to a point) and that this spot was where "awareness enters the embryo in the womb."

Peace Dan C.

interesting post, wiresoma.

I'm in agreement with Halfglass, about the rising kundalini. The Andean Peruvian shamen seem to understand it too. I always like to recommend Gopi Krishna's book, Kundalini to people going thru what you are experiencing. It might help to throw a little light on your experience.

I'm wondering if Hamilton was able to tell you the source of the spider?

Dear Halfglass and Buzz,
I've been doing alot of reading since that experience and Kundalini seems to be the closest thing to what I experienced, thanks both for your agreeable remarks. Thanks for the recommendation Buzz, I just finished reading Gopi Krishna's book "Kundalini: The Evoluntionary Energy in Man" and it helped me a great deal. A "side effect" of the experience is similiar to Gopi's; I have had an extreme fear of the supernatural now for two months but it has recently tapered off to a manageable level.
I have Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and the Tarantula may have represented that condition. Initially, my OCD was almost completely gone, but of lately I find myself running the old files again. They don't have as much energy though, as they used to.

Wiresoma~
I may have a little insight into what you experienced; I've been practicing qigong for almost a decade now and experienced sensations like that even when not communing with the Sacred Plants.
You constantly inhale energy from the environment into your body (chi, prana, ether, orgone, all are the same thing your body transmutes this energy into a form that it can use to maintain your physical being. There are five gates through which the energy will pass the most readily; these are in the third eye region of the forehead, the palms of the hands, and the soles of the feet. Up until seven days before your natural breath, you will unconsciously inhale energy through these points. Energy generally only passes one-way through these gates; any excess or by product energy will typically transpire from the lungs as you exhale and the skin.
Kundalini refers to a stream of energy which twists both directions, passing through the chakras (by this I do not mean the glands of the endocrine system and uniting man with cosmic chi and earth chi. In the middle point of the stream, this energy becomes human chi, and then is changed to the other form as it ascends or descends. This stream of energy is a force of regulation for your Aura (the field of vital energy that surrounds your body; in a healthy person it is somewhat egg-shaped with vortexes at both the northern and southern poles.) If you are able to sense and control this stream, or the equator of your Auric Field, you are able to intensify the amount of energy that you transmute, thus increasing the amount of energy you are capable of wielding.
Increasing this does not rely upon Will, as one might suspect; rather, it relies upon sensitivity to the energy itself. If you focus upon practicing Five Gates Breath constantly, in all things you do, you will increase your sensitivity to this energy and thus your control of it will expand. Once you have sensed the energy, it is in your grasp to direct it. Five Gates Breath is the coordination of the inhaling of air with the focused inhaling of energy through those five points previously listed. As you progress in this exercise, you will find that even when you are not inhaling air, you are inhaling energy through these points.
As far as the gobs of "mud" that came out of your head, my experience is thus: in an untended energy system, you accumulate a lot of different qualities of force. These different qualities, when not moderated or circulated, will unbalance the system. This is known as a blocked or closed chakra; this point has become clouded and is no longer a clear point of transition. This also occurs in Marrow Washing (classic technique taught by Da Mo) when you find insensitive areas that have lost their "charge" of vital energy. If you diligently practice Five Gates Breath, you will begin to eliminate these stagnations and reach the degree of sensitivity to where you can see for yourself.
Questions pierce and answers deceive. I can't show you what I'm talking about; I can only recommend an exercise that you can do so you can see for yourself.

Silentwolf: Thanks for that. I discovered chi quite on my own while tripping and doing yoga at the same time. Huge amounts of energy were coursing through my body, dripping from my hands. I could form balls of the stuff by twisting my hands in circles or simply wringing them out on the ends of my arms as if they were rags. This would cause bigs warm "puffs" of what felt like one's hands were inside a pillow. There was no mistake. I was onto it and later joined a tai chi class. (I gave up the class because I'm busy but I may join again sometime.) I wonder what to do with this discovery sometimes. I play with it, try pushing it into my cat or girlfriend, whatever. I'm not a shaman but I was made a believer in this chi (prana--whatever one would like to call it) ...Magical passes with the hands certainly must be dealing with this same stuff. I sometimes alow it to flow out--my hands moving almost by themselves--when I dance during a trip, sometimes speaking in tongues...but that's another story.

Hey Halfglass that reminds me of something,

Do you get that 'thing' when tripping that your hands and even your whole body seems to be able to move my itself in strange graceful movements? This is weird i know but it happens to me none the less. all i have to do to be affected is sit still and relax and then slowly my hands will begin to move of their own accord. It reminds me of doing Oracle boards except it can affect your whole body notjust your hand.

Peace

Lowlight:yes. In fact the "yoga" I was doing was of my own design. I began to sense what it was to do toga and went with it...(shoulder stands, various tucks and stretching positions). I suddenly understood why the yogis do it. It was centering the body over a balancing point and feeling the earth in perfect balance with the body. (This also creates a sense of Chi moveing up from the earth.)

I've found myself dancing and chanting unknown words ("by e ot chot chet ay yay eo moa!") and sometimes felt it was "dance or die!"

I had my fill of those extreme states though now. I've been there and know of it to be real enough. I continue with yoga though not everyday, just keep a mat rolled up for when the mood hits. (Turning your inner organs upsidedown is said to be good for them...something about the blood being allowed to shift from where it usually has to climb "uphill" (against gravity) and this refreshes or give these areas a kind of little break from their regular duties.)

Wiresoma,

I wanted to express that very serious energetic release is common during intense Ayahuasca ceremonies. As we are healing we are calling for a "spiritual straightening" of all of your energetic body. Different kinds of illness are caused by what we call "crossed energy" in the body. The ayahuasca spirits and the shamans together call to straighten out the parts of the energetic body that are crossed allowing a realease of energy. At the same time you transcend the physical realm. You see your own body in its spiritual reality. That empty tunnel could have been filled with dark entities or pure medicine. Over time and training in Ayahausca medicine, that tunnel which is the body starts to fill with medicine spirits and medicine "a spirtual substance that gives us power to heal."

During the ceremony we are calling to release all the entities and energies that are the causes of your various conditions. It can be overwhelming at first to experience such release in ceremony and can open new forms of fears such as you expressed about the supernatural. But that is the very path that you must walk to find healing. If you have supernatural illness and are directed to supernatural healing, then you will have to learn to accept the presence of the supernatural as part of your experience. We do not mention any spiritual word figuratively. We say them literally meaning we have met and communicated with the different supernatural forces.

Over time things will settle into a new pattern and the fear will subside. When I first started my training I was terrified of all that could happen to me. I was scared of going to bed at night when the Ayahuasca visions would spontaneously beging and start to communicate with me. Over time this became comfort, when I realized they were protecting me. Over time the fear turned into awareness that the universe and teh wrold is so much more beautiful then I had first understood.

I wish you the best of luck on the rest of your spiritual and healing journey.

Default kundalini

Dear wiresoma,

That is an amazing and intense account of your kundalini coursing through your chakras. I have yet to read Gopi Krishna's book but it is on my list before my trip to Peru. Have you done any yoga or breathwork prior to your ayahuasca journey? My kundalini has awakened and been activated a few times this year.

I remember my first time at the NYC Shamanic Drum Circle gathering after the end of the ceremony my kundalini was uncontrollably causing my right leg to start spasming and violently shaking. I turned to Joe who was a shaman and has had several ayahuasca experiences at the Daime church; I tried to converse with him and tell him what this has done for me and how grateful I was. He looked at me and said I was a very sensitive being. After that experience I would randomly feel orgiastic surges of energy shoot up my spine, either because of the position I was sitting in or because of my breath, usually a combination of both.

As you become more in tune with your breath and your body through intention you can ask the spirits to come to you and you can feel all of your chakras open up. Ayahuasca must have opened up all of your gates and all the violent shaking was probably the transmittion of all this ancient knowledge and spirits working through you.

The first time I had my kundalini awakening was actually at the end of a very intense LSD experience I had in the city. It was around 3:35 PM on a Saturday afternoon and I was walking down Times Square when all of the vendors were outside. I came across this tent where there were people being instructed under "Sahja Yoga". I sat down and I didn't even chant a mantra or anything. I walked the streets of NY the previous night into the next afternoon so I was definately in tune with my breath and body. All of a sudden I felt this course of energy, like a soothing cool breeze rise up my spine into my crown chakra coursing through my chakras into my finertips. AFter that I hugged her and thanked her. I went 1 time to free sessions on Tuesday in the city and felt my kundalini rise again.

After that as I walked to Penn Station to return to New JErsey everyone felt my energy because I engaged everyones eyes and smiled. It was very intense to have my Kundalini awakened for my first time while still feeling the effects of LSD. My whole acid experience prior to my kundalini awakening was a very awesome experience. I walked through parks, heard the most beautiful music in venues and in the streets, walked through greenich village, saw the sun rise in the docks of Lower EAst side, ate with homeless people, went to the MOMA, bought 2 crystalls at the Astro Gem Gallery, and so much more holy experiences. I felt such a oness with everything.

Kundalini has opened many "doors" for me and has allowed me to tap into my inner divinity.

Please wiresoma I would love to know how you are doing these days. Have you felt your kundalini rise again?

Halfglass I also have noticed when under certain entheogens especiallly acid that I start to just get up and dance in such graceful postures. You were on to something and knew. I recently was listen to RAvi shankar and meditating while I took a sacrament and I begun to erupt in OMs and my own icaros. It's all connected breathe, ayahuasca, lsd, mushrooms, yoga, telepathy, synchronisities, ancient biblicaly mushrooms, jesus, horus, Has anyone seen "Fire on the mountain: A gathering of shamans"?
I love you halfglass.

Question

Hi all my very first posting!

Following on from the threads but not sure if im barking up the wrong tree!I would like your opinions on following.

I was at my very first workshop with a local shaman, it was during one of my very first jouneys (She was drumming very loudly in a smallish room) I was sitting cross legged on the floor and there was 4 other people with us. as i relaxed i had this tremendous thumping going on in my stomach region (solar plexus?) as she moved round the room my head felt as if it was spinning and my gut was bouncing all over the place and my body was shaking like crazy! this happens everytime im around someone drumming and im in a relaxed mood. i have also experienced similar feelings (stomach bouncing) when i have sat with physical mediums, in these instances I get the feeling that im giving energy to the host sitter. do you think this is my kundalini starting to stir?
I havent had the sensations for a while as work has taken over my life again but im keen to get back on track withmy spiritual work.

any pointers greatly recieved!

A few posts here i could comment on so rather than quote, just going to ping Lowlight and Halfglass in particular.

i'm quite familiar with both the sensation of being Danced and the hand movements with energie flow; this is one of the primary areas i Work in and have for a number of years. The first time i recall being actively Danced - as opposed to just doing it mysElf - i was tripping, some acid that had laid me out for most of the day.. laying on the lawn at the corner of a local hippie street fair, feeling sick from fumes of paving tar i'd inhaled walking there, just coming on. But twilight came and a spontaneous drum circle formed; next thing i knew i was on my feet, unable NOT to dance, moving and jamming along as long as it lasted (an hour? more?) Have had one or two other experiences with feeling a spirit move in and take me over, what i call Being Danced as the impetus seems to come from beyond/above me and usually results in my moving in ways beyond my usual capability. i've also seen my ex- spontaneously do an amazing sword dance while tripping, twirling live steel about and leaping it.

These days i dont do much but the most introductory psychedelic (pot) but its often enough. i find i'm able to slip into the altered, trance state with *very* little provocation; having it happen when dancing or playing music without any chemical impetus at all. i notice that when this state comes on, i Lead the movements with my *left* hand; right brain? tho i'm primarily right-handed. And i am VERY aware of energie being channeled thru me and out my hands.. i can call a certain amount up just by moving as if i were packing a snowball; shaping and patting the energie between my palms. When its more active i tend to want to pull it like taffy; several tai chi moves are quite similar in effect and 'feel'.

i can't say i yet know quite what this sensation "is".. i know how i identify it to myself, recognize it when it happens, but not entirely what its "for". We are weaving the web of life - ? A tripping friend, watching me dance at a festival, once said i was passing dead souls thru my hands and on to the other side. Well, no, not consciously; but - something. Would love to know what a trained Seer would observe.
