I checked out BOTH from the downtown library here in Ocoee and was so taken by it that I read it completely in just about two days. I found most of the book, particularly the sections on materialistic America and its reflection on the shamanic world, to be amazingly insightful. The trip details -- and the reflections following them -- were done so verbosely that there could be no mistaking the validity of the experiences the author had. When I can, I plan to add this book to my collection.
I have been studying/trying shamanism and psychadelics for years, through a feeling of personal "calling," if you will, though my attempts at pursuing it have fallen short, for various reasons. I'd like to pose some questions on that subject, but that is probably outside the scope of this topic. It suffices to say I think this is an excellent book. Many praises on spreading these words, Daniel! I think the world (especially the West) needs to "wake up," and this book is a good whop on the head. |
