i was compelled yesterday to go into a bookstore and pick up a copy of Grant Morrison's new trade paperback of his comic book "The Filth".

as with his "The Invisibles" before it in the mid '90s i found myself thinking "how'd the hell did this guy know what i've been thinking about, and how dare he put it in a fucking comic book!" (which is oddly enough a reaction Morrison himself had when he saw 'the matrix')

i read the whole thing in one sitting... and left the bookstore with my neurons humming...

...check 'The Filth' out.

Morrison describes what he wrote as an attempt to innoculate society with carefully constructed memes through an optical format...

I just loaned my paperback to a friend a few days ago and it's been on my mind a lot recently, and here you post about it. Did you read his interview in Arthur? I read those comics back-to-back about a year ago and thought they were fantastic.

Edit:
I think it's actually www.crackcomicks.com.

...you're right about the url...

no i haven't seen the review... i thought this might be better off in 'culturl production', but the subject matter reaches just about the level of hyperparanoia that i've experienced since grade school...

...yeah, i didn't even know that Morrison had written anything new in a while. i figured he was just doing superheros to pay the rent, and then i saw this... very glad to have.

everything i've been thinking about for about a fewyear, filtered through the head of a scot's man.
