Default in as Rut

and any guy with half an ounce of self preservation knows what THAT spells for a relationship. . . .

We are in a rut. As a website, as a People, as a nation.

What does it take to get a little action around here? Do i have to start a fight?

Been there, done, that, as i've heard too many times before.

The pot is on the boil, folks, lets hear the tidings of the NEW!

We are not in a rut as much as our environment in which we occupy is in a rut.

There is a distinction between the two, but it may be difficult to observe the difference.

Default well sidey,

i think those of us who sit and observe and do nothing are in a rut; those who follow along blindly are in a rut; those who believe reality is the spin are in a rut and those who make their $$ spinning the rest of us are also in the rut. but the planet? no.

Default the world

the world is not in a rut.

I just saw "I'm Not There." One of a kind.

Bob Dylan is not in a rut. No matter how bad you want him to be

I'm in a rut, but if I pretend, I can sort of imagine myself in a utopia. After a while, I convince myself that I'm really there and it doesn't matter anymore. And then I think, maybe I was never in a rut at all and it was just an illusion. It's all so confusing.

i do live in utopia (really) and appreciate it too, but we've got a 24 hour old fire here in the santa cruz mountains and yesterday there was no indication of it here where i live as the wind was blowing north to south and i am north of it. well today i woke up and it seemed awfully dark, and i looked out and it looked hazy - i could see the hills but fifteen minutes later, i can no longer see the hills (half mile away), i can hardly see across the street and my front door smells like actual smoke so i taped it up with two inch painters tape, but it still smells in here so i turned on the air conditioner recommended by the news and that isnt doing anything. its kind of scary. the fire isnt closer but the north wind died (thank g.) so the smoke is drifting back. there is an evacuation center in the middle of my town. ive lived here in the bay area most of my life and have never seen this much smoke even with the big los gatos hills fire twenty years ago. well its supposed to rain tomorrow and sunday....
i know im off topic.

I know you guys go back years and I'm butting in, but I read this and it sort of resonated. Some days I feel in a rut and some days I feel in the groove, but most days I think it's the same damn thing, rut and groove, and what changes is the way I'm sitting in it. Fact is, utopia takes time. Time is what I do in the rut. Maybe that's what Daniel's '2012' is about. The planet's rut is the presession cycle, wobbling up and down its gravity walls along the way. Suebee I hope your house is OK. Last I heard, the SC fires were still burning.

we need to define 'rut'. i bet the 'usual' usa rut is entirely foreign to the bangladeshi. ?

i think the fire is out, witzmt; thanks for asking.

Thanks for the check on my reality. I don't know what a bangladeshi rut would feel like but I bet it includes feeling hungry. I think I'll go wire twenty bucks to Unicef. Witz

I'm in a rut.
And a rut is a rut in America or in India.

Alas, dear colleague, my twenty bucks would not help us there; as bopes so deftly pointed out, my treat would need to be paid in pounds sterling. I have said a prayer that you may see out over the top of the rut. I think that's the best place to begin. I too am in a rut, self imposed because of the needs of my family. I was at my youngest son's new high school yesturday. The program began, 'welcome, parents of the class of 2012.' So there you have it, 2012, apocalypse or enlightenment? I might feel cheated either way; all I really want is more time to work in my garden.

Gardening is the ground of ruts.

Speaking of which, I got an email yesterday from my local community garden (on which I have been wait-listed for a plot -- seems like everyone wants to grow vegetables these days) discussing test results showing elevated lead levels in the garden soil. Ahhh ... urban pioneering at its finest. Lead-fortified cukes, anyone?

ps: I'd bet Isaiah accepts all forms of currency

Yes,so true Bopes.
I bet if you checked your drinking water thoroughly you'd find many more heavy metals than just lead.
Also alot of pharmaceutical meds are getting into our water works too.

I have been putting alot of green manure-soy beans, vetch,Austrian winter peas and not much commercial ferilizer on outr garden spot.
The lead probably came from the days of leaded gasolineBopes.

The one point of optimism where pharmcueticals are concerned is that old public health rule 'the solution to pollution is dilution.' It still works pretty well, which is why the politicians got no traction trying to scare us all into a post-9-11 quiet-submission with threats of bioterrorists lurking at the waterworks. What I remember about lead it that it's heavy. I agree with Isaiah completely, but it seems to me that unless the community garden plot was a garage or gas station in a previous life, the lead was probably from processed gas, that is, exhaust. If the testing was done near a road, you might get very different levels with soil just ten feet farther away from that road. It might be worth checking, especially if the alternative to lead cukes is salmonella tomatoes.

you THOUGHT! No, no, no, no, no!

Bushmen Agenda:

Nonwestern trance healing.

N/um -- create boiling heat in belly

!Xia -- shoot light out of pineal gland.

"COLLECT THE N/UM OF YOUNG MAIDENS"

Convert N/um into !Xia and shoot it into young maidens.

PROCESS:

1) Listen to young maidens singing nonwestern trance music (i.e. Anuradha Paudwal, Bel M'bilia, etc.)

2) Practice SMALL UNIVERSE -- 12 notes of nonwestern scale = 12 energy points along two main energy channels. Get $11 c.d. for this practice from http://springforestqigong.com -- Level 1 sitting meditation.

3) Do standing tai-chi simple exercises -- shown online as free videos from http://springforestqigong.com.

4) Work your way into the full-lotus for final pineal gland breakthrough and then enjoy the free energy. Full-lotus = 4 equilateral triangles, each made up of two 2-3-4 triangles with 2:3 as yang and 3:4 as yin -- the perfect fifth and perfect fourth found in all nonwestern music healing cultures.

5) ENJOY NOT THINKING -- as the Bushmen state: "God watches the sick person, the healer trances her."

Yes,yes,yes,yes.
And It depends on what God you're talking about.

In fact I have eight o'clock rounds in one minute.

And trance.
Many times yes,but mostly medication.
